The Gospel of Luke is part of a two part series with the book of Acts. Both of the books are addressed to the same person, Theophilus, but Theophilus may be a name given to a “Lover of God”. When looking over an introduction of Luke check for the author, the recipient and purpose, the date and place of writing, and characteristics.
