Defiance

I went with a group of men to see Defiance.  We were all part of a Spiritual Formation Task Force and we were trying to learn something about community.  The story is told of a community of fugitive Jews who built a town deep in the woods of Eastern Europe when fleeing from the Nazis.

Each person in the town brought a unique gift and was set to work.  The young and the old supported each other in the face of a common enemy.  It looked a lot like they were adopting the ideals of the body of Christ.  Except they also carried machine guns.
